Overview

Environmental Rail Solutions, Inc. (ERS), a small, woman-owned transportation and disposal firm has assembled a Project Team with the unparalleled capability to professionally address the Transportation and Disposal of materials in a cost effective and efficient manner. Close coordination between the ERS Team and your internal project group will ensure safe and efficient transportation and proper disposal in accordance with regulatory standards.

Project Experience

Since its inception in 1996, ERS has coordinated several projects in compliance with the USACE Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) program and other low level radioactive transportation and disposal projects as well as non-hazardous and RCRA hazardous waste projects throughout the U.S. To date, the ERS Team has provided transportation services and/or support on approximately six USACE projects under USACE Total Environmental Restoration Contract (TERC) and Pre-placed Remedial Action Contract (PRAC) contracts. The ERS Team has provided transportation services across the United States to industry recognized disposal sites. This experience provides ERS with the knowledge and ability to handle any type of waste material generated at your cleanup site. see past performance 2006

Financial Stability and Security

Financially, ERS has proved we can handle the large cost associated with rail transportation. Our excellent relationships with our vendors, particularly with railroads (CSX, UPRR, NS) provide us access to credit lines sufficient to get your project underway without immediate cash flow concerns on your part. ERS offers competitive payment terms during the project execution with an understanding of the impact of government funding when that is a factor. In addition to financial strength, ERS maintains a pollution liability policy with a ten million dollar limit.

Project Personnel

Most important to ERS’s capabilities are the individuals directly responsible for the performance of the contract. ERS understands that communication is essential for a successful project. Accordingly, ERS will provide frequent reporting on the status of the project and highlight potential issues that may arise to ensure prompt resolution and keep your project on schedule. Overall management of your project will be in the hands of Mr. David Ardito, an ERS vice president and principal with 25 years of experience in transportation logistics and management. All other personnel assigned to the project, employees and vendors, are responsible to Mr. Ardito for maintaining the high standards he has set for the organization.

Transportation Equipment

To maintain the high delivery standards to which our clients have become accustomed, ERS made a commitment to nearly triple the size of its owned/leased fleet. At present, the range of equipment available for your project includes: Gondolas, Intermodals, Flat Cars, chassis trailers, trucks, dump trailers, track-mobiles and spreader bars.

ERS’s fleet includes all steel, flat floor gondolas with 2,743 cu. ft. capacity which are constructed for 286,000 lb. Gross Rail Load in accordance with AAR standard S-286. The inside dimensions are: length- 52’6’, width- 9” 6’’ and height- 5’6””. They are equipped with a body-mount brake system, with double acting slack adjusters. The air brake system is designed and applied with AAR Specification S-401. Built in 2005 by Trinity, these cars have a tare weight of 64,000 pounds allowing you the ability to maximize every load.

To improve the overall utilization of the gondola fleet and to provide more value to its clients, ERS invested in a state of the art one piece fiberglass gondola lid. Since placing the lids on its gondola fleet, ERS has been able to save its clients money by eliminating the need for separate lining systems which could typically add five hundred dollars to the cost of a shipment. In addition, the lids help meet the loading safety standards as required by the Army Corp of Engineer's "Yellow Book". ERS provides its clients with custom made lifting devices and all necessary training documentation needed to properly handle the lids.

Our intermodal fleet is comprised of late model hard lid containers. They are 20’ in length, 8’ wide and 6.5’ tall for a total volume of 25 cubic yards. The containers are water tight and in compliance with industrial packaging IP1 standards. We also have a mix of hard-lid and tarp type strong tight intermodals to meet every loading style.

Our Intermodals are transported via our fleet of 6-position ABC rail cars. When loaded with our intermodals the railcars enable us to transport a maximum 26.4-tons of product per intermodal container. This gives our clients the maximum payload per intermodal possible which reduces site time and cost.

ERS’s fleet of triple axle sliding intermodal chassis’s, staged throughout the United States, helps clients get their material from their site to rail transfer facilities when rail tracks are not available on-site. The chassis has the capacity to move the same payload as a conventional dump trailer meeting all weight and bridge restrictions. This enables our clients to utilize rail transportation, which is both cost-effective and safer than traditional dump trailer movements.

As part of its diverse services offering, ERS welcomes the opportunity to prepare a proposal for short term/long term leases of its equipment fleet. Those interested in supplementing their own equipment requirements are asked to contact Mr. David Ardito, VP at 732-212-8140 or via email at dardito@envrail.com

Monitoring and Reporting

ERS has developed a monitoring and reporting process, which has been instrumental in ensuring a project meets its timetable objectives. You will receive daily reports on the status of material moving off site, in transit, at the disposal site and en-route back to you. We will advise of any bottlenecks so that corrective action can be taken promptly, minimizing the loss of time and money. ERS works daily with all railroads included in your move to make sure your material is constantly moving towards its destination. Our dedication to the quick movement of your dedicated equipment insures you that your fleet will be at the optimum size to fit your schedule saving money on equipment costs. If there is too much equipment, ERS will divert equipment away from your project. If there is not enough, rest assured that ERS will immediately add to the fleet, no questions asked.
